A FREE walk over Knipescar Common to discover the nearby nature surrounding us, and to learn and share knowledge about Cumbria’s wildlife. We will visit a variety of habitats from limestone grassland to the riverside with Jamie from Cumbria Wildlife Trust

Times: 10am – 1pm

Walk length: 4 miles

Terrain: Moderate fell walk with wall stiles, grassy slopes and uneven ground, meaning that this walk is not fully accessible to all.

Dress for the weather and waterproof footwear.

Drink and snacks, weatherproof clothing. NO DOGS ALLOWED

Not suitable for wheelchairs.

The walk is free to attend – but please make a donation, if you can, to help support the organisations running these events.

  • Fell Wander – Moderate fell walk with wall stiles, grassy slopes and uneven ground, meaning that this walk is not fully accessible to all.

  • What to wear: Please dress according to the weather, warm clothes and waterproofs if cool and/or wet, don’t forget sunhats, sunscreen if hot! Please wear sturdy shoes or wellies.
  • What to bring: Snacks and a drink, binoculars
  • Parking: At Bampton Grange
  • Toilets or facilities: Available in Shap.
