For the Love of Badgers

Wednesday 8th May

For the Love of Badgers

Join Sally Heesom, the project co-ordinator for Cumbria Badger Vaccination Project and is the lead for a small but dedicated group of volunteers. They have spent the last 3 years sett surveying and monitoring the badgers at RSPB Haweswater and last year we successfully vaccinated 31 badgers. This year, they aim to expand our team, train more volunteers and vaccinate the badgers at both Naddle Farm and the Swindale Valley.

For the Love of Badgers – “Sleeping in my car, getting up at 5 am, dragging traps around the Cumbrian fells, running from the flies, digging out ticks, digging in traps, trudging around in all weathers and having to fundraise for every penny needed to do it!”

For the love of badgers is a talk which explains the Who? What? Where? When? Why? And How? of the Cumbria Badger Vaccination Project.
